I'm running Windows XP SP2, and I am using a router however I'm certain that's not where the problem lies. I've been using uTorrent for about a week with a new router and nothing has been wrong, everything's worked like a charm. I have my port forwarded, both TDP and UDP on my router.
Today, however, I got a new wireless adapter. It's a D-Link DWA-142 Rangebooster-N USB adapter. As soon as I hooked it up, uTorrent began reporting that my port was closed. I only installed the drivers for the adapter, no actual software, so there shouldn't be any firewall on the adapter or anything.
I've tried basically everything... opening a different port, going through every setting imaginable looking for a hidden firewall or security setting... nothing seems to help.
Am I completely blind or does my adapter conflict with port forwarding...?
From the utorrent FAQ: How can I make ”Torrent use a specific network adapter?
In the Advanced section, you can specify the IP for the adapter. net.bind_ip specifies which adapter to use for incoming connections, and net.outgoing_ip specifies which adapter to use for all outgoing communication. (no idea but make a note of any changes you make in case).
