i have an XViD movie that AVIcodex shows as 2.21:1 aspect ratio. MainConcept in Advanced Options will only allow me to encode to either 4:3 or 16:9 the option of 2.21:1 is there but not avaliable as it is not in BOLD and cannot be chosen. If I use 4:3 or 16:9 won't my final movie be distorted? Does anyone know how to access the unhighlited 2.21:1 or which ratio is the best to use 4:3 or 16:9. Thanks Tom

Did you say you already encoded the video to XVid? If it's already encoded to XVid, are you trying to encode it so it will be playable on a DVD player? 4:3 should work. If the video is already encoded to XVid, then it will most likely not be anamorphic. This means it should not stretch when you encode the video to 4:3. Some times encoding to 16:9 will squish the video. This happens when the original video was not anamorphic widescreen. Or, when you take a full screen DVD and rip the movie into 16:9 format. You will notice that the finished video will be squished, because it wasn't designed to be strecthed to fill a 16:9 screen. Try 4:3.

Np. Sometimes answers that might sounds bit "harsh" (i.e. just links and recommendation to "just f.. read it" :-) are the best ones, if the other party is willing to learn :-)
