my r4 is going bizarre. when i put it in the ds, and boot it up, only half of the ds logo appears!
and when it does work, it gets stuck on the loading page for a loooooooong time.
i tried reformatting it, like, a million times. fat16 and fat32! i even tried exFat!
I have had loads of problems with Kingston cards once they have been formatted by windows, I only use Panasonics SD formatter (free - use google to find)This has stopped freezing issues.
Failing that I have had problems with some DS's not seeing cards properly and to test this I removed the back of the DS and pushed on the card slot when loading and if it cured it I put a piece of card between the card and the metal of the loading slot - shoving the card closer to the pins.
Kittymat your a star....pushed a small piece of card under the R4 as I inserted it to make a tighter fit and it went first time..obviously not making complete connection with the chip before..thanks a million

When did you get your R4? The vast majority of R4's released are fakes, they work but not very well or very long. Their all pretty much just cheap knockoffs. This is because that the group or company that made R4's stopped production on them quite a while ago, i'm sorry but I don't know when this happened because i don't know myself but i think it was at least 6 months ago (but don't quote me on that). One thing i did notice that was different with the current (and most likely, fake) R4's is that the sd card slides in the back of the R4, where is in the original, you would have to put the card in through a springer (similar to the way you put a ds game into the ds cartridge).

edit: I just noticed you said that you had the R4 Deluxe SDHC, i've honestly never heard of it but by googling it, it seems to be the same thing as the r4 ds revolution.
