Has anyone else had the problem that stops the ds saving the date and time (Just shows 00/00/2000 and 00:00) then on reset just goes back to the startup screen again ? I have searched about and so far all I seem to have found is call NDS tech support. Any help would be appreciated as the unit wont play games at all. My apologies if there is already a post on this, I have looked but didnt see anything. TIA

If you set the date with the power supply connected turn the DS off and on - does it still work correctly, or has it lost everything.

Nopes, as you input the data it appears in the upper screen as 00/00/2000 00:00 the after it asks for restart it just goes back to the setup again asking for name date etc. This is with the power supply plugged in also

How did this happen, just went blank one day, had been left for months and was like this, or was the firmware being updated?

It sounds like the firmware has been corrupted on the DS.

My son had it in a tent overnight and some things got a little wet this was the last we can remember it working. From searching the net most people have said the ds may be corrupt, is there a way to flash it again or something similar ? Thanks again for the replies much appreciated

I am afraid if it got wet then it is probably dead, I look at a lot of DS's but when they have been wet I usually replace the board. You can get replacement board, look on eBay for a replacement board would be the best bet.

Hmm the thing is I can play games using an R4 its just the original games that wont work as soon as you put them in it asks for your name, date etc. Put the r4 in and it plays no bother

If you can live with it then I would say leave it alone, the chances of being able to change a surface mount component without specialist equipment will be pretty small.
