psp slim-2003 modification

Need help to modify my PSP in order to play iso/cso games from my mem stick.I am new at this.
-I have a magic memory stick( created after larry's guide
-I modified the battery (from an original slim battery) as per guides
-i have a psp slim-2003 official fw 3.95
the above I checked if they are correct more then 10 times.

I don't understand:
-the magic memory stick and the modified battery can change a official firmware in a custom one?
-if yes I used the instructions I found mostlly here- (to insert the the magic memory stick and the modified battery,when inserting the battery PSP will come on)-but the psp didn't turn on.I had to turm it on from the switch and it works like before I modified the battery.

I am so confused now!Can anyone help ?

did you mod it correctly???

you need to cut pin 5 to mod a battery. on the slim battery you could cut the pcb line instead. did you do any of that?
