How to get audio from my freeview box via scart????

Hi there got a freeview box which has 2 scarts 1 for tv and 1 for vcr.
Unfortunataley it has no L and R audio outputs on the back (red and white cables) and i am trying to find a way of connecting it to my amp which has lots of L and R outputs available.
The amp is quite old and has no other audio types of outputs available.
The freeview box has a S/PDIF out connection on the back.
Is there any way of connecting this to my amp say S/PDIF cable to twin audio lead available or is there another way available via using say the scart leads.
Sorry if it is in the wrong section but wasn't sure exactly where to put it.
Please move if a problem.
