Well, since I can't get support from isofter, I'm hoping to get some help here.

All I want to do is back up my movies to an external HD to be played back on my laptop and/or HDTV. iSofter has 27 different output formats to choose from (see below), but don't go into detail on what to use for my uses.

I've tried MPEG4 (#6 below) so I can watch it on my ipod, but which output format should I use to watch on the computer and tv??? I'm not concernd with being able to access the movie menu options and I prefer quality of rippng speed....which brings me to my next question. Is approx 2 hours for a movie normal rip speed? If that's that the case, it'll take me YEARS to get all these movies ripped. DOH!

Basic Function
1.iPod(320x240e) Excellent ouptput size 320x240 with Excellent video quality for ipod.
2.iPod(320x240n) Normal ouptput size 320x240 with Normal video quality for ipod.
3.iPod(640x480e) Excellent Video2 Output size 640x480 with Excellent video quality for ipod.
4.iPod(640s480n) Normal Video 2 Output size 640x480 with Normal video quality for ipod.
5.iPod to TV Output size Video for ipod .
6.iPod Video Custom you can choose MPEG-4 Video format as output profile.
7.M4A-MPEG4 Audio you can choose mpeg4 audio format as output profile.
8.PAL-VCD -Video CD you can choose PAL-VCD format as output profile.
9.NTSC-VCD-Video CD you can choose NTSC-VCD format as output profile.
10.SVCD(pal)-Super Video CD you can choose SVCD(pal) format as output profile.
11.SVCD(ntsc)-Super Video CD you can choose SVCD(ntsc) format as output profile.
12.MPEG-1 Movie you can choose MPEG-1 Movie format as output profile.
13.MPEG-2 Movie you can choose MPEG-2 Movie format as output profiel.
14.3GPP-3rd Generation Partnersh you can choose 3GPP-3rd format as output profile.
15.3GPP2-3rd Generation Partners you can choose 3GPP2-3rd format as output profile.
16.XviD+MP3 you can choose XviD Movie format as output profile.
17.DivX+MP3 you can choose DivX Movie format as output profile.
18.WMV-system profile you can choose WMV format as output profile.
19.WMV-simple model you can choose WMV format as output profile.
20.Archos AV500 /GMini402 you can choose Archos AV500/GMini402 as output profile.
21.Archos AV700 you can choose Archos AV700 as output profile.
22.Creative Zen Vision you can choose Creative Zen Vision as output profile.
23.iRiver PMP-100 you can choose iRiver PMP-100 as output profile.
24.Custom AVI ext you can choose AVI format as output profile.
