I installed the OEM Suite but yet the nero application does not startup when I am backingup a DVD? I have looked at the settings but
have not found the reason. Are you able to help with this problem?
I had this all set up with AnyDVD and Shrink before I lost and replaced the computer. Thanks for the help.

If you saved your AnyDVD key, then you can reinstall shrink and anydvd. You have to usually open nero by clicking on the exe. file. It won't open just by putting in a dvd. It should have placed a shortcut on your desktop when you installed it. Did the OEM version come with new pc or did you borrow it for you pc. I believe some OEMs will only work for a specific burner that it came with. Fellas is this correct?

You might also try free DVDFab decrypter. rip-shrink-burn with it.

Here is my problem with the software compatability issues:

I insert DVD into the drive, AnyDVD scans the movie, opens up a box, I choose take no action, I then open the DVD Shrink 3.2 application and choose open files, the application opens and reads the DVD Drive. Then after the analysis, I choose the Backup icon, the menu is supposed to show in the ?select backup target the Nero, my only chose in the drop down menu in the ?Hard dish folder OR Create ISO image file. These options are not how it is supposed to be. What can I do to correct the problem?

You might be right about the OEM being specific with a burner. I did not transfer the burner to the new computer. What to do about that?

Well you can invest in Nero Suite. You can download ImgBurn and select the option in shrink to create the ISO file. Then you can burn the ISO file in ImgBurn.

What version of Nero did you get OEM. I believe the newest Nero version does NOT work with Shrink any more.

You can also rip with AnyDVD and use DVDFab to shrink anf burn with itself or ImgBurn. You can also you DVD Fab to rip>shrink>burn all in one.

There are a lot of options out there. If you can afford Nero Suite 8 get that one if you still can. Lots of good tools in there. I would not get the latest version 9-buggy.

That version of nero should work. The best 6 version is 6.6.0.18

Edit: the link I have for 6.6.0.18 is not working.

This should be a proper link:

When you re-installed your software, the order of install I think matters. If you install first DVD Shrink without having Nero installed,Shrink will not find Nero at installation and will not list it.

Piss me off, and I Will ignore You!

What cyprusrom says makes sense. Uninstall shrink and upgrade to Nero 6.6.0.18-do not install InCD! You might even download a shrink from another site and install that one. Maybe you first install of shrink was corrupted. Ain't this fun. Whatever learn all the programs mentioned so far. They are handy programs. The more tools you have available, the more options you have.

One suggestion-if you haven't already bought AnyDVD and are just using the trial on new pc, then now till Jan 1st is the last time you can purchase it with lifetime upgrades! And I believe it's also still on sale at slysoft.com
