Ripper/Converter Advice Needed for Newbie

I want to be able to rip DVD's & VCD's to my HD, then convert them for optimum playback on my Zune 80 and HDTV. Freeware would be best of course, but if I need to purchase to do what I want then that's ok. Would like to have 1:1 rip/burn and the ability to edit chapters as I would with CD files...only recording the ones I want...if possible.

Most important to me is simplicity and ease of use and using one program would be ideal but I can use two if necessary. Unfortunately, I don't have hours to spend learning all of this.

There are many programs available, but again, I don't have the time or enough knowledge/experience to make a really informed decision
and is why I'm hoping to find what I need here.

I sound like a salesperson for Slysoft...

AnyDVD to rip to HD
CloneDVD Mobile to convert into Zune MP4
CloneDVD2 for DVD copies for HDTV

Nevr tried VCDs though, but then there is always CloneCD.
