Trouble burning DVD's all of a sudden

I have a Lite-On DH20A3H and am running Nero 7 Ultra. I have been burning DVD's with no trouble at all until now. I have tried to burn about 15-20 times in the last few days and have only managed to burn 3 things without issue.
Here's some of the issues through out - Burn process failed, power calibration error, unable to end burn disc at once.
I am including my history log for the last few attempts it also shows the last sucessful burn.
I have been reading through the threads but am having touble understanding what is wrong.

You should try slowing your burn speed down to 4x or no more than 8x. Also, there is an update to the firmware for your drive available HERE. Double check it against your drive Model before downloading. It will help your drive to match to more media.

Ive had an almost identical experience.You name it i tried it ie drivers, uninstalling, cmos, mobo drivers....only thing that worked for me was a reinstall/reformat.I reckon that xpsp3 buggered up my system.But try the firmware update as suggested first, if youre lucky it will sort it.I didnt have that option as all my burners were current.Good luck

@killalot...this is probably the most frustrating problems i have had burning.I was using ty g02 8x dvr-, which are exceptionally reliable.After the reinstall same discs were fine.WTF?!!

Sorry pieman I searched the sight for instruction on how to edit my post came up empty and thought I figured it out but made a bigger mess. I think I too have given up, I tried Verbatim and just got DMA error and CRC error burning at 8X.

I still think that you could try another burner or, my favourite solution is a reformat/reinstall windows.If it still wont work, then you know its a hardware issue.Try and back up on a free partition or removeable drive though!

Have you checked your dma settings? go to start>control panel>system>hardware>device manager>doubleclick on ide ata/atapi controllers>right click on primary ide channel>properties>advanced settings.Make sure dma is enabled and available in transfer mode, and that auto detection is selected in device type.Repeat this for all other primary and seconday channels.this is only necessary for ide drives....sata is unaffected.

dont burn at 16x your burner also may need a firmware update to burn at that speed so go to the manufactures liteon and see if there is one avalible

There is a firmware update for his drive, I even posted the link for him in my first post. As well as telling him to slow down his burn speed. But evidently some people don't wish to be helped :(
