So, I have AVS Video Converter, DIVX, and Nero 9. I downloaded an AVItorrent file, and it plays in DivX Player without any problems. Initially when I tried to convert it to DVD (VOB), the sound was out of sync. Now when I try to convert it, it converts to VOB file, but Nero won't recognize the video content of the file, and won't burn it to DVD. I'm confused. I have AC3 Filter, as well as DivXCodec, and I'm unsure what the problem is. Any help?
Which program are you using to convert the AVI file to DVD format - AVS or Nero?
Nero should be able to handle the conversion from AVI to DVD.
If you are using AVS, I assume you are converting it to mpeg-2 then feeding it to Nero.
Yes, I use AVS first to convert (because for some reason Nero won't do it - could just be me not familiar with Nero 9), then use Nero to burn. And the original file is fine.
Each time I try to convert it only gives me the VOB file.
I was able to burn it onto DVD before, but like I said, the sound and video are out of sync. And on the DVD, there are IFO, VOB and BUP files. I was thinking of trying to convert from the DVD instead of the AVI file I downloaded. Yes? No?
If it's any help, I had this problem with an avi and Nero as well as a few other program's. My regular encoder wouldn't accept the avi, ConvertXtoDVD did and converted it fine but wouldn't burn it nor would Nero. Nero did recognize it though. ImgBurn would only open one file but I was able to drag the entire folder into ImgBurn and it burned fine then. Edit: never had a sync issue, maybe check that first even if the avi is fine on your pc.
Ok, so GSpot shows in the video XVid - and says the codecs are installed. In the audio, it lists 0x0055 MPEG-1 Layer 3, and says the codecs are installed.
