If you have the URL of the stream, this free program will download the stream in it's original format...

TotalRecorder (about $20 US) is my favorite recording app. Been using it since about version 3 or 4.

Hi, undine and olyteddy, and thanks,

Sorry about my belated response to your suggestions, however I had (and still have) some problems with my PC.

undine:
I have on my Pc installed Screamer radio since quite a long time, and your suggestion is indeed good, except where one wants to record something he casually hears from a web radio station that wasn't added to Screamer radio.

olyteddy:
I have tried Total Recorder (version 7). It indeed does the job; however, I don't like it's interface. So, if you know or hear about some other program, please let me know.

Best regards

Hi undine,

Incidentally : How do jou add a radio station to Screamer radio?
I remember, once or twice when I wanted to add a web radio-staion I applied to the Forum and one of the guys there (I think his name is Ludwik) did it for me (well it took a few days).

Thanks in advance

Have you tried Audacity? It's fairly straight-forward and gets the job done.
I used this tutorial upon first discovering it.

To add your station in Screamer Radio you need to find the URL from your player (such as Winamp,Foobar,etc.). While you are playing your station, try to find the properties of the stream. The properties will show the URL. Then copy this URL and go to screamer and click on 'file' and then 'open URL'.Then you can save this station in your 'Favorites'. Good luck.

It's not free, but it will record anything you can hear over your computer. You can keep it or convert it to any format. (video also if you want)

Hi and many thanks:
to undine for teaching me how to add stations to Screamer.

to nadinel for the idea of using Audacity (actually I have got that program, however int didn't occure to me it can do that job).

to Dadeo1- well it seems using applian would be the best solution, however because of the price I have to think it over. Also it's not clear to me what, if anything, the Replay Media Catcher can do, which the Replay AV cann't (the Replay AV is only 10 dollars more expensive). Would you know?

Thanks again

I don't want to give you a wrong answer and have you spend your money on something that won't do what you want. I think they all have free trials you can try and they are very good at answering e-mail questions. Tell them what you want to do and what sound card you have. There is some streaming Replay A/V will not record.
