can somebody show me how to extract audio only from a video clips

Drag the video onto Avidemux.

By default, the audio is set to 'Copy' - you can either leave it set to 'Copy' or change the format.

Click 'File' > 'Properties' to check the audio type (mp2, mp3, ac3 etc).
Now you can accept the audio as-is (and leave it set as 'Copy') or convert it to another format using the drop down menu.

On the top menu, click 'Audio' > 'Save' and give the file a full name (including the extension).
Examples are:
audio.mp2
newfile.mp3
audio2.wav
etc.
