I've tried using sonic mydvd, and DVD Flick. Both give me similiar results. The .avi i have is great quality, but after running it through these programs, the resulting iso has some pixelation and audio is about a second behind. ive tried high encoding priorites, etc. Chose every option to achieve the best quality but I get the same result. burning the image at 4x on TY disc, so dont really thing it has to do with the media
I was able to make a great copy with Convertxtodvd. Real simple interface...just changed to no menu, chose options for high quality and it worked flawlessly. Takes a couple hours but it's worth it for good quality. If there's faster programs that are as easy (no need to load any codecs or anything)and delivery a high quality final product, please feel free to suggest them.

CXD is always a good choice, especially when it comes to audio sync problems.

Actually CXD is one of the fasted out there, which means a bit of a quality hit. Programs that use HCenc's 2 pass encoding will take much longer on your rig.
FAVC as was mentioned uses Hcenc, unfortunately it has a few unresolved problems. Stick with version 1.06 (1.07 re-encodes even compliant 5.1 Dolby audio streams to 2 channel). Also set the maximum video bitrate to less than 8000 in hopes of avoiding the no IFO issue that happens sometimes.
