I just recently installed a duo 3 ultra in a v7 PS2 fat, the first time I powered it up it read normal disks but did not read backups what so ever. After turning it off and restarting it, the PS2 no longer produced any image nor sound. I tried using an alternative power source and jumping up the size of the power and grounds wires, but to no avail.

Q1. Should I go ahead and move the ground wire to one of the grounding planes around the outside of the motherboard?

Q2. After testing and reassembling the PS2 for about the 30th time, I decided to test the assembly outside the case for speed sake(bad idea). It worked fine until I accidentally shorted the power supplies fuse across the a/v port housing, popping the surge protector it was attached to. This, amazingly, didn't pop the fuse and the ps2 still reacts the same way it did before. How can I test the a/v port, wires, and every other subsequent thing that I may have destroyed? Multimeter?
