Hello, guys!

My troubles are the followings:

I ripp a clean, absolutely new DVD of S.Y.N.A.P.S.E. with DvdDecrypter 3.2.0. in file mode "all files". After that I'm able perfectly play it from my HD as it was the original DVD.

Then I encode the movie with DVDShrink 3.1.3 and everything seems work fine. At this point, I would like to burn it on a DVD. To do this I use Burnatonce 0.99b. And it starts to write on DVD. But it just stars: In fact, after few seconds a message like this appear: the operation was successfully completed after 0min 4sec

Of course nothing has been written on the DVD.

Hence: what's wrong?

You didn't list your burner or blank media. Burnatonce doesn't work with +R media of any kind. Only -R media. Is this your problem??

First of all, thanks a lot for your attention.

After that, I forgot to say some other things that could be useful to make clearer the situation. Some weeks ago I already burn some other movies using just DVDShrink and Burnatonce one the same trade mark of DVD's getting perfect copies of the original one's. Then I tried to burn Ice Age and now S.Y.N.A.P.S.E. and I got the problems you know. The copy on my HD after DVDDecrypter woks absolutely fine: I can choose subtitles, chapters, special stuff, etc. The copy I get after DVDShrink or DVD2One (since I tried also this) does not work so fine: I'm able just to play sequncially all the contents of the DVD. Is there something of wrong at this step already?

The support I always used and still using are magnex -R since I have a DVD -RW media. But I already tried with another trade mark: I got even bigger problems.

bye now,

Sounds like very cheap & not so cheerful type media , I'd suggest buying some Ritek G04 DVD-R or reduce your burn speed on poor media...

Ok, I'll check with your suggestion, even I suppose that the speed I used (2x) is low enough.

Thanks a lot

Magnex ???

I just searched on Google & are they Italian or something ??
There are no stores in English speaking countries that sell this disc (as far as I'm aware)

Must be a really crap media , I'll not answer anymore in this thread ....

I dunno man, bad media can be attributed to a lot of things, sure, but this sounds like a software problem...

Are you able to burn just regular data onto your dvds? If you can't even do that, it's gotta be some kind of conflict or driver problem somewhere, I would assume.

I don't know many people that only have free burning software + have success at backing up (whatever)
In fact I know of none , but each to their own...

Magnex DVD-R do sound like inferior media Matt , if you look them up !!;-)

I agree with Mattrage; it sounds like a problem not depending on the quality of media. In fact, I already used these media to make copy of quite a lot movies. My opinion is that my troubles depend on the way to menage all contents of the original DVD. I think I have to use IFOEdit (or something like that) to make a copy of the main movie a keep the menu too. This is what I'm trying to do in these days. I will let you know if I get some success.

Bye,

Galois

In yellow is the comments posted by NEC 2500A users :)

I have never had any coasters with Ritek G04 myself , I'm thinking it's probably an NEC thing (like the 1300a wasnt that well supported media wise for quite a while)

But I liked it better at 4x.
Well I got off the phone w/techs at Maddog, they seem to think its the DVD writer too,So I'll swap it out & see
Incidently those guys are great in the service dept
QUESTION!!! How do I back-up my firmware on a drive? In case I want to try some of these cracked firmwares.I've read of people have better luck w/this type.Personally I've never tried,Kinda Scared

I've used (un)official firmware on my Pioneer 104 the last few times , in fact only initial f/w flash was done with official revision.
As for backing up your firmware , what d'ya mean ... back it up (?)
The version of f/w will remain on your drive until you re-flash it w/ a different f/w revision. You can of course always revert back to original f/w if you wish (as long as there's a downgrade .exe for your particualr drive).
I read up here for whats the latest & if other people get along with ceratin f/w etc: http://forum.rpc1.com/viewforum.php?f=2&sid=17fce8f2b1d44e0fd906984c941e9543
We need 8x4all for Nec 2500A or 4x4ll at least...

[interesting... lol]

P.S. Mad-Dog did look a good site when I went to order a Silver pre-mod PS2 w/ DMS3 chip , but they were shut for too long at Xmas so I bought off kanection.co.uk [they too are an excellent bunch , very helpful ... and polite to boot] !: ]-~

Manners don't cost a thing !!

When I use DVD-Shrink (takes a little longer)but it burns just Fine

I solved my troubles!

My troubles were both from Burnatonce and the low quality of media support.

For burnatonce, I installed it again and now it works perfectly; for media support, now I'm using Imation -R (it seems to work fine) but I'm going to switch on Verbatim.

Thanks a lot for all your suggestions!
