HI I AM HAVING TROUBLE OR JUST DONT KNOW HOW TO BURN A MOVIE I HAVE SAVED TO HD .CANT GET IT FROM THERE TO DVD-R CAN ANYONE TELL ME PLEASE TO PUT MY MIND AT REST.
ANY ASSISTANCE WOULD BE GREAT MANY THANKS

Best thing to do is what the rest of us Newbies did and read the Afterdawn guides. They are a realy good place to begin and explain just about everything you need to know. Look at the explanations of what VOB and iso files etc are, download the appropriate tools such as DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink and Daemon Tools and you will be well on the way. Most other problems are covered in the forum questions.

Also if there is something not answered in the Afterdawn guides (yes they are not perfect), try www.doom9.org/index.html?/guides.htm becuse they have some really good guides. Other guides can be easily found through a Google search. Then have a play with a DVD + or - RW to get it right before burning to a DVD + or - R.

You need to convert your existing video into one that is compatible with dvd. Then you need to get that video into a dvd structure.

Your first step should be to d/l main concept mpeg encoder, fast, easy and good quality. Load the file you d/led with main concept, set to dvd, etc

You should then get two files (depending on prefs in main concept i think) an m2v (the mpeg2 video) and a wav file.

d/l tmpgenc dvd author or dvd labs, load the two files, merge them *edit* sorry should be muxify, not merge, tsk tsk *edit*, very easy, set up menus and links, background vid and music. Let it compile, but let it do it to a folder on your hdd, test that, then burn.

Nero vision express will do all of this for you at the expense of time and quality. It will convert the stream, and then also has the dvd author feature, though it's not as detailed as the two aforementioned programs.
