I want to backup data to dvd5 I should use D/L dvds but dont have any at the moment. I was thinking nero could do it but not sure how that works. So how do I span 40 gigs of data across more then one dvd without iso format

Heres a sig with the coffee.

If it's just for backup you could just split it into .rar files

Won't be in rar format will be as I see it in the folder I have labeled. So far only thing I've seen I can do is break it down in to 4 gig chunks, folder wise and burn but this is time consuming.

I have the same problem and I have not found a way to do it such that the files are accessible from the individual DVDs.

If you use a backup application to do it the application will automatically fill the space but you would have to "restore" the individual files (using the same backup app) in order to have access.

AFAIK, the only way is to manually split them up.

Time soncuming, but you can then create an .iso of the disc if you need to create multiple copies.

Something like this will prove painful. Why not purchase a small USB2 "portable" drive? Even flash/thumb drives are getting up into the 32GB range, and I've seen them as low as $40 lately.

Trust me on the avoidance of splitting content across discs. It's no fun.
