AGK is a quality converter - best let it run undisturbed overnight.

Set the size of the output to suit using the custom setting.
700 MB for an hour of running time suits me - the smaller the size, the lower the quality, the faster the conversion.
I run it overnight because encoding takes up a lot of CPU power on my PC.
You can also queue up a batch by using the 'Add Job' before starting the process.

I would second the vote for AGK. Definitely the easiest to use that I have found. I usually set it for 1401mb because I like to keep the AC3 audio and that still keeps the video good enough for me. (1401 so that it does not automatically split the output for 2 disks) Process takes around an hour and a half on mine.

How about something a little more efficient? AGK is as good as quality as doing it with Virtualdub...in my opinion.
But then again all the Virtualdub guides are old, or obsolete everywhere I've seen.
