Ive been looking to buy a new card for my DS, my son has decided he wanted my EDGE card so Im now left with needing a new one!

So Ive been looking around and found one called a MARS SDHC TF Multimedia Adapter Cartridge that I have never seen before and was wondering if anyone has one and what they think of it?
The reviews were OK that I read but I would still like to hear from anyone else who has one.

I only want it for games as thats all I know how to use the EDGE card for anyway so Im not fussed with all the extra bells and whistles.

I did originally upgrade to the EDGE from a R4 as I could no longer update the R4 to get newer games to play, this is my number 1 concern with the MARS as I would hate to buy one and end up not being able to update it and play the newer games, I have had the EDGE for over a year now and never needed to update or had a game that wont play and I would like the MARS to be as good in that respect and not need to be updated constantly.

Other cards I have found along the way are a N5 Revolution, DSTT, AceKard and iTouch that are all in my price range (yes Im trying to be cheap!) so if any of these would be better please feel free to let me know
any and all comments would be greatly appreciated.

Mars is a poor quality R4 clone, I was sent one when I ordered an M3 Real card - I returned it as it was VERY poor. Look at the M3 Real - very good compatability, mid range price $25 from www.dealextreme.com and with the new operating firmware Sakura it is awesome

Thankyou for the reply kittymat, the site I'm looking to buy from doesn't seem to have the M3 card I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post a link to the site but I will try, if its not allowed could the forum admin please remove it

http://www.dealextreme.com/products.dx/category.604

That is the site I would like to purchase from, I'm in Australia so obviously have to convert it into aussie dollars and it is still a great priced site cheaper than any other I have found.

I'm now going to choose between the DSTT, AceKard, or N5 (is the N5 related to the R4 at all?) and give the MARS a miss, I want to go with the DSTT but worried about ending up with a fake one Ive read that fake ones of these cards exist. How to you know if it is real or not? Are you aware of the site I want to buy from and if they sell fakes??

Also do you know how often the DSTT will need to be updated and if updates will always be available or could they suddenly stop making them available like the R4.

Thanks again for helping me its most appreciated.

You pay your money and take your choice. DSTT is cheap but there are loads of fakes (nneding special software) updates are slow (still no clone wars fix) and they have a reputation for blowing fuses in the DS (rare but more than other cards)

dealextreme do the M3 real but they are $25, its a case of you get what you pay for.

Personally if you have an Edge - get another it is easier to have 2 the same - 1 software update to keep track of - operate the same etc

Hi i have owned a dstt for 1 year now and have had no problems with it i update it every month me and my brother both own dstt's but my sister and little brother both own the itouch. the i touch is a good cart for younger kids but the dstt offers more advance features. WHAT EVER YOU DO DO NOT BUY AN N5 REVOLUTION MY SISTER BOUGHT IT FIRST TO THEN FIND OUT THAT N5'S ARE KNOWN TO DESTROY YOUR DS. you can buy a dstt on dealextreme for about 15 dollers and an itouch is about 20 dollers.

the n5 is just a clone of the r4 if you dont believe me the site for n5 is almost exactly the same as the r4 site

http://r4ds.cn/

http://www.dsn5.com/EN-N5/n5-en.htm

when you update the n5 it has the exact same os as the r4 uses.

i hope this helped you
