I wrote the other day about my drive not being able to write any DVD-R discs. Well, I got some DVD+R discs and it's now working maybe half the time... I get one good burn and then a coaster, etc. It goes through the entire burning process until it gets to 100% in Nero and goes to close the disc/write lead-out. Then it takes longer than usual and says the disc is done. But when I go to read the disc, it tells me it is empty. I've tried reading in other drives and it says it's blank. Yesterday I got an error of No Seek Complete. That is the first time I got an actual error in the program. I also went to use DVDInfoPro HD and I have green dots on most of the read parts, but in the write part there are RED dots on most of it. I'm assuming that means there is a problem??? That's logical to think, although there is no manual. Some have nothing in there so I'm assuming that just means it's N/A. I'm assuming GREEN means working and RED means not working? Can anyone confirm this?
I searched "no seek complete" and was told it could be either bad media or a failing drive. My problem is this all started happening when I opened a new spindle of DVD+ discs, so I don't know for sure. What makes me think it's the drive is the noises it is making and also the red lights in DVDInfoPro. Can anyone help me here to definitively figure out if it's my drive or media?
Thanks a bunch!

If you?ve burn 1000+ discs and start making noise, it is time for you to let it rest in peace.

If you have good experience Optiarc (Sony/NEC), I recommend to stick with it. Just making sure to get IDE/ATAPI, unless you are sure that you have SATA connection on your motherboard.
