Well Im trying to make a menu with audio playing in the background..I was woundering how do I do this, using DvD Author?

Hiya,

For audio while the menu is playing, the menu background HAS to be an MPEG system file (video+audio), the audio in the MPEG is the audio you will hear.

Create the MPEG you want as the menu background - easiest is a clip from the film - to the length you want.

In DVD Author, choose that MPEG as the background in the create menu screen.
Click Display menu settings
Click the Motion menu tab
Select Use motion menu
Select Use audio of the background video as the BGM
Set the length of the motion menu.
Click OK

You are good to go.

While messing around With Premiere and DVD Author I figured out how to make it work..Same thing you said.But thanx for the quick reponse

i'm having a problem with this, dunno if someone can help...

i'm trying to put some bgm, i'm tmpgencing it w/ a nice fade in and fade out, the .mpg file is encoded properly with the fade in/out but when dvd author is done the bgm is blasting loud as can be and doesn't fade in/out as the source bgm is supposed to...

any way to fix this? if not, bgm is totally not worth it

Have you, by any chance, ticked the NORMALISE box in the Audio Edit area (where you set fade in/out in TMPGEnc)??

That would tend to cause the symptoms you describe.

After downloading the trial version TMPGEnc. I encountered an error maybe someone can help me with. Im tryn to convert some music vids to Mpeg 2 and as i go into encoding the vids i get this P3P package. dll. Ok now! heres what i have done. I hace tried 3 diffrent free trial version and none of them let me do this. Anyone have any instie on how to get past this.???

TMPGEnc DVD Author is for when you have already created MPEG2 file(s).

TMPGEnc Plus would be what you might use to encode to MPEG2 !!!
