when watching a film that has been converted to dvd it keeps on stopping and jumping back a few chapters, it will do this several times during the film, has anyone came across this, it is a possibility that it is my dvd player as ive had it for 8yrs but it wasnt a cheap one back then.

Does the original file do this? Is the movie just 1 file, or is it multiple files?

I mean, did the original file play well on your computer? I'm curious to this, as I've used dvd flick for a couple years and haven't ran into the problems you are experiencing.

You didn't check the original file before you converted it? That should be one of the first things you do after d/l a file.

9/10 when this usually happens its the player, had this problem many a time with players 5/years or more old.Like it was pointed out by rtm27 should check the file on your computer before you burn it to disk.check if there is a firmware update for your player, when i updated my samsung DVD players firmware some years ago improved compatibility. The price of DVD players these days, and yours being 8 years old, might be better to go and buy a new player.
