Do you prefer to use VLC because of the bitrate accuracy? Have you tried EAC (whic it seems to be able to rip more than one track at a time?

Hi, attar. I followed your instructions and the resulting file turned out to be with a .ps extension, even though I specified .mp3. I even changed the extension to .mp3. In both cases, no ripping was made. When I played both these files (.ps and .mp3), there was no sound. What do you suggest at this point?
VLC doesn't add extensions to the files, so I can't explain reason why a file that was specifically named .mp3 ended up with the .ps extension.
To go over the steps;after selecting the Wizard, 'Audio CD' and a track.
On the Transcode screen, select the lower pane (audio) specify MP3 and the next screen 'Raw'.
Choose an output path and give the file a full name e.g track1.mp3
You should end up with a file with that name (even if everything else is wrong, the file should only have the name that you gave it).
As a side note, you can drag the .ps file onto 'MediaInfo' and it should spell out exactly the nature of the file.

Attar, just to let you know, there is no wizard on my version of VLC, which is 0.9.8a. It's the most current version to date. And the menu bar doesn't say 'Files', it says 'Media'. Also, upon clicking 'Media', among the options like 'Open File' and 'Open Disc', there's 'Convert/Save' and 'Streaming'; both of which I've tried in accordance to your guide but to no avail, obviously. And your guide is old by the looks of it. What version of VLC are you using? Perhaps this is the problem?
attar, I had downloaded vlc 0.8.6.i and replaced 0.9 wth it, THANK GOD! Not only can I now rip MP3s with per your guide, but it loads up much much faster than 0.9. Thanks!
