I just purchased an Acer Aspire 4730-4516, am running Windows Vista Home Premium, and have installed only the following programs: DVDfab hd decrypter to rip, DVD shrink, and DVD decrypter to burn.
I have no problem ripping it with DVDfab, DVD shrink appears to work just fine, but when I go to burn with DVD decrypter i get anywhere from 0% to 5% complete then the 'write speed' swiftly drops down to 0x where it stays for about an hour and a half. I am using verbatim DVD-R which i just purchased 2 days ago.
My DMA setting are set at Ultra DMA mode 6 as well as Ultra DMA mode 2
I eventually get the following error (located at the bottom of my log) which i was under the impression was a result of cheap media. Any help on what to do would be greatly appreciated.

Ive tried burning at max, 8x, 4x, 2,4x and none work. I downloaded imgburn and it worked great. Thanks for the input everyone. Any idea why dvd decrypter doesnt work but imgburn does?
DVDDecrypter has not been updated in years! the same author has ImgBurn updated often enough! ImgBurn is much better than DVDDecrypter for this reason.

I agree.
DVD Decrypter's burning engine needed to be updated and that's why ImgBurn was created.
