Why is YSMenu so slow?

Has anyone else noticed that YSMenu on the R4DS loads games about 3X slower than the R4 firmware does? Even with smaller games, this problem is still noticeable. Anyone else have this problem or have a solution for this? (besides purchasing another flash card)
