Hi everyone. I was wondering if there's a program out there that allows one to match similarities in an audio file, or lets me do it manually. There's a recurring piece of music in a very long classical piece that I wanted to isolate. But it's difficult to pinpoint where it starts and ends. So I was wondering if there's a program that I can feed the audio into, and it will pinpoint similar areas in the long file. I have Nero 7's Soundtrax 2. It has all kinds of snazzy features that I just don't understand, so maybe it is already capable of what I want but I don't know it. Here's this interesting window I found in it:

After re-reading your query, I think you want to try foobar2000. I think it has a plug in wave reader. You would make the match graphically. My guess is there is no exact match, so software will not do that unless it is custom made to your specifications.

Or WinAmp. Uses 'Gracenote' to fingerprint music and find similar songs.

Teddy re-read, he is looking to match music within the same file.

I was going to suggest using a finger printing routine to find the other matches from within but unlike matching the exact same music in two different files the music will probably not be exactly the same. To program artificial intelligence into a routine to perform fuzzy logic is not worth it. It would be easier to make the match visually then trying to specify what to ignore and what not to ignore if such an app existed.
