I was wondering if anyone was having the same problems as me trying to burn butterfly effect 3 and joy ride 2 as it burns ok and when i put it in dvd player everything works fine until i get to the menu part and select play movie as then it starts to play the movie and just starts freezing up and picture gets pixelated guess cause some encryption that dvd fab is not taking out as i tryed to use dvd decrypter on it thinking that might fix it and it completed sucessfuly but still did not fix the problem but i can put them in my computer and play the movie fine watching it through the computer just would like to watch it on tv so any ideas would help out alot thanks

forgot to mention i never had any problems with backing up other movies until i came across these 2 but everything else works when i make a backup copy so im thinking its something in the encryption thats stopping it from allowing you to watch it as it plays for like 3 seconds then freezes up and plays again and freezes all through the movie on both discs so what ever is the problem with the one will fix the other as well

Could you provide more information about the process you used to get these two films to a backup dvd?

yes i can watch them through my harddrive as they play fine but when i put them in my dvd player on my tv it plays fine until you get to the movie part then you hit play and it freezes and dont let me watch them and the program i used to burn them to dvd was dvd fab hd decrypter 5.2.3.2 as it says it burned 100 percent successful on them both just it wont let me watch the movies using my home dvd player as i can put them in my computer and watch them fine with no problems on the computer so thats why i was thinking maybe it did not remove some of the encryption code as i have backed up other dvds with this same program and never had any problems watching them with my home dvd player

1. please use some punctuation and grammar as that makes it easier to decipher your post.

2. DvdFab updated to 5.3.2.0 today: an updated version can be found here:
http://redirectingat.com/?id=49X85&url=h...vangate-689.exe

3. Did you use DvdFab by itself to rip/transcode/and burn? Or were there other programs that you used as well? Either way, a burn log would be most helpful in helping us help you.

We could be of some help if you could simply answer the questions i posted previously. So, in all reality, it's not that i'm not being of any help. On the contrary, you are not providing us with the necessary information to help you.

I did B.E. 3 Without any Problems.

You Do Need to tell us What Brand of Media you are using and what speed you are Burning it at. It Might help to Know What Your Burner is and How Old it is. You Method of back-Up Would Be Nice. What Program did you use to Burn it with? Are Both these Movies Doing the Same thing?

And as for not Wasting Disc, I'm all for that. But I'm Not Using My Disc to Save You Money. You Need to Be Willing To Try the Suggestions We Are giving you.

By the way 7thsinger Is one Sharp Cookie, While He maybe Psycho, He's not Psychic. He Really is Very good at solving problems (When He Has Something to go on)

Ok if you did B.E 3 then did you goto movie and play it? As i mentioned before special features and everything plays fine until you get to the main movie and yes both of them do the same exact thing as i never have any problems backing up other movies as i just made a backup of doubt so i know its not my burning program which i use as it worked fine and the discs i use are memorex -r which i always use and never have any problems.

What program are you using to burn?

Can you provide the burn log?

I don't want to get into a big blank media debate, but Memorex don't always have the best reputation for consistency. It's entirely possible you just got a couple of dodgy discs. Or there's something else going on, which would be answered by you providing a burn log from either (or both) of the trouble backups.

@ powerdude

Yes. As I said I had No problems with it.

You Have answered a couple of questions, but I can only say at this point, Try different Blank Disc. Burn at 4X. Try Changing your Target area to 4300mbs. You Could always take your Back-ups to a friends house and try them in his DVD player. And that burn log would would be Really great. Another thing you can try is to Burn Using Imgburn, its Better than the one that is packaged with DFab Plat, and way better than Nero. It is the Up-Graded Version of DVD Decrypter.

1. Are you doing an On-The-Fly copy? (From Source to your Burner as destination)
2. What is The Make and model of your burner?
3. What is your Burn speed?
4. How old is your Burner?
5. Can you post a Burn log?
6. Is your Firmware Up-to-Date?
7. Did you try to Back-up just the Movie?

Hate to break it to ya, but if your movies played on your Hard Drive, chances are pretty good that you have some crappy blank dvds. Whether it's the entire batch or just a few dvds is what 7thsinger was trying to find out... so just post your damn burn log already. If you want help, then help us to help you. The burn log will show information to help us determine whether you have crap media or possibly a software/hardware issue. Just because the Memorex dvds you bought look like the same container you've bought before, doesn't mean that it was made in the same place... and therefore may not be the same quality as ones you've had in the past.

Provide the burn log so that 7th can help you out ( if he still wants to ) and make you look like more of an idiot... not that you're not doing a great job on your own.

Sorry if my post offends anyone, but like my siggy says... I have no tolerance for idiots, especially ones that pout about having a problem and bite the hands of those trying to help.

Figured out the problem now thanks to everyones help. I have a GPX dvd player as I have played tons of dvds in it with no problems and even cleaned it really good and still never worked. So i tryed imageburn and tested it in another dvd player and worked fine. Just cant understand why I have watched alot of other dvd's and they all worked with no problems. Maybe my dvd player is just getting worn out as its only 3 months old but anyways Thanks for all the suggestions.

Some standalone dvd players can be more picky than others. A couple of things you could do to help yourself out;

1. Use good quality blank media. Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim.

2. Use the +R format and booktype to DVD-ROM

3. Don't burn at max speed, and don't multitask while you burn.

4. I prefer Imgburn over Nero.
