Hi All,

I am trying to convert some .flac files to mp3 using the guide from this website -

but the version of Lame has changed to 398-2, and when i extract the folder, there is no Lame.exe file, so Foobar cannot find it to convert the files.... anyone know how to get around this?

The guide has a link to 3.97 - did you click the download bar on the right side of the screen.

Thanks for that, repeated the process and it worked this time round, though all the mp3s it spat out had 'major problems'... am just going to stick to the winamp>itunes method, which seems to work fine.

try and find LAME 3.92...its the best and most stable version.

For the sake of your ears please don't use winamp or itunes compressors. good god they are horrible. LAME is the best mp3 encoder there is, period.

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:
