This thread is to try and learn the challenges with backing up School of Rock. I just bought the DVD and have been unsuccesful in making a backup. The issues seems to be on the actual buring process. I have ripped the product using DVD decrypter and then burned using Nero. The results is a unreadable file. I also tried the ol faithful DVD Shrink. DVD Shrink had no issues ripping to a temorary folder but the Burn process failed again. Is there a new format of encryption that makes this disk un-replicatble?

I have succesfully backed up over 4 dozen DVD's in my collection and not had an issue to date. Has anyone else experienced this issue yet? Any ideas on alternative methods to use?

I fought the law and the law... still hasn't found me!

Yes I backed up my "School of Rock" dvd last week the day I bought it. I always buy , burn , then store the originals away and watch the copy. It worked fine the first time through. Have you been able to back up a movie since this one didnt work?

This was my most recent attempt. I did 2 movies in a row and then failed three times on School of Rock. So No I haven't yet tried a differnt movie. What are your thoughts?

I backed up my School of Rock last week. I used DVD Decrypter and Pinnacle Instant Copy to compress and burn. RiData 4x discs, LightOn drive.

No real problems just a few artifacts.

Try a movie that worked before just to verify your system and disc are good

Hiya Swotz,

Preyzuess makes a good recommendation. Try that first.. Failing that ....

The "School of Rock" DVd is no different than the rest of them. I've burnt this disc without problems using Shrink and Nero. If you've had 4 burn failures in a row.. then it's either your burner that's going .. or you've hit a bad batch of media.

I suggest you try another batch of media first.. and then as a last resort.... have your burner looked at.

Regards,
CK
