Hey,
I am fairly new to utorrent only using for the occasional torrent here and there. I was halfway through a torrent, and was re-arranging all of my files and folders and i moved the files that were partially downloaded. Is there anyway to continue downloading the torrent and then merge the files or do i have to restart the whole torrent again? I hope i can merge it becuaes the file is like 4gigabytes and i wasup to about 2 and a half.
Thanks in advance

Point utorrent to the folder where the torrrent now is and restart (or if it's still open in utorrent, just open utorrent) the torrent and it will resume where it left off. Don't ever move a torrent before you're finished with it (downloading, seeding) because utorrent nor any other client will see it.

If you have a space issue you can opt to have utorrent move the data for you. There is an option to move your torrent after it is complete. If it does the move you can 'payback' your ratio using a slower drive seemlessly. Torrent clients are VERY picky about torrent data. They do not want someone loading a virus or someing into the package. If it isn't exactly the way it 'thinks' it should be it will reject the anything different.

It should only take a minute or two to either put the data back where it ought to be or change the download directory. You can't change the directory if you are 'doing' more than one torrent. Otherwise utorrent will not find the other jobs.

Many download to C: then move the job to an extrenal drive after the job is done. The clients are not picky where it stores finished jobs.

For persons looking for solutions it is best to clairify what the problem was.

So what was the original probelm? No space on C:?

Having the torrent move the data after the DL is complete to an extrenal drive is the only workable solution.

The worst solution is to move it yourself them make a new torrent. The new one will compete for users with the original. That can wipe out both torrents unless one is removed. Users will report you and the tracker admins will remove your torrent. I would expect the admin to ream the fool for doing such a stupid thing so they don't do it again.
