I don't know if this is possible but hopefully someone can let me know one way or the other. After a problem with my hard drive, I had to format it and lost the files I had been seeding with Utorrent. I still have these files, and the .torrent file exactly how they came, backed up on a separate computer so can someone with a bit more know-how on torrent apps than myself let me know if I can copy these files back into the correct folders and start seeding again without re-downloading the files. I would think I could start the download again from scratch with the original .torrent file, then stop it for a minute, and copy the finished files into the corresponding folder then force re-check in utorrent for it to find the completed files. am I correct in my thinking or do I have it all wrong? I'm using Utorrent(1.8.2) on a Vista Basic OS, if that info is of any value. Thanks in advance.
Your idea will work because thats how i did it when i had to reformat. Download the file for a moment to establish the folder or file and copy the completed file you have to that new file/folder..
Force recheck and after a little bit it'll change from red/error to green. You got the right idea bud.
