So I've ripped my game using USB Loader 1.1 and the game plays fine from the USB drive. However, I'm trying to extract the iso to my PC using WBFS Tools and about half way through I get a run-time error 53: File not found. This happens with every game I have tried. Any ideas what's wrong?

Try using WBFS Manager 3.0.1 which you can get HERE.

I know this is a stupid question but is your computer HD almost full. An ISO will come out arroung 4.5gig no matter how small it is on the drive. I got a error once when my drive was ful. I cant remember what it said though.

I didn't think about format issue either.

Make sure your ripping the game to a NTFS formated drive on the PC and not fat32.

Drive Format on the PC can be any FAT system or NTFS. When formatting the external for the WII it does not specify a region to format to. Just make sure the games are the correct region for your system.

Drive format on the PC can not be FAT if you want to rip or extract a Wii game ISO to the PC HDD.

FAT can only handle up to 4GB file size.

Wii games are 4.37 GB.

So you would get an error or the game size would end up incorrect when ripping or extracting a Wii ISO to a PC drive that is formated FAT.

You also want to format the USB Device your going to use with the USB Loader to FAT32 before formating it to WBFS. Formating it to NTFS can cause issues when formating the drive to WBFS format.

As for the game region. It doesn't really matter what region you get. I have some PAL and some NTSC(U) games and they all work. I just have auto-force selected in USB Loader GX to force PAL to NTSC(U).

If you are worried about game updates the updates are scrubbed along with the garbage data when transfered to the USB device.

I just want to claify that when I got my HD it was preformatted NTFS. I used the WII to format to WBFS. I never ran any FAT format on it. I have no issues. But you are right due to file size you must have NTFS.

I had a HDD the other day that was formated NTFS and I formated it to WBFS and it did not work. After formating FAT32 then WBFS it worked.

Also the USB Loader itself and most other applications read me files say to format the drive FAT before formating it to WBFS.

my WD Passport 500Gb Elite was formatted to fat32 then i formatted it to NTSF then to WBFS and never have had any problems until now. WBFS manager 3.0 reads it and so does my wii but WBFS 13 does not detect the drive. It sees it but it will not load the list of games.

Im new, so bear with me!

It may be the passport. I tried a few and they were all flaky. Sometimes cutting out whenever. Eventualy I installed it internally. Turns out there was an issue with the bord that suplies power to the drive. I do not know if they ever fixed that issue.

I have a softmodded Wii 4.0U and I used WBFS Manager to put New Super Mario Bros on my USB Drive and it worked awesome. Just played through world 1!! Only takes up like 300MB on the drive too so I can fit many that way.
