I've been using this software for sometime now and haven't had a problem so far.
I just did a clean install on my computer so it's nice and clean (problems with Media Centre). This week, I upgraded my Trend Micro Pc-cillin from Dell 14 to Dell 16.
Using Sony Studio the past few days it is more than apparent something is definitely wrong. The encoding of my edited mp3s (audio) is extremely slow. For example, a 1 1/2 hour show at 128 kbps (84 MBs) is taking up to 30 minutes to save and encode?
Normally the process time would be about two minutes or less.
I've also noticed that my Task Manager is says it is using about 50% CPU. Usually if it is a medium to large file it will use up to about 90% CPU. It appears to be staying at 50% and not utilizing more CPU in order to encode?
I'm not quite too sure where to start. I've turned off my Trend Micro and still it is taking a very long time to encode?
I have a Dell 5150, Pentium D820 Dual Core 2.8 GHz, 250GB, SII Hard Drive (7200 rpm), 3GB memory, DDR2 SDRAM 533 MHz, Nvidia Graphics 6800, ATI Theatre 550 Pro-TV Tuner, Audigy Sound Blaster.
Two new burners: HL-DT-ST-DVD-RAM GH22NS30 and Philips DVD+-RW DVD8801. The first burner is SATA and second Philips is IDE (replacement from Dell). Set up BIOS for new SATA burner.
Checked DMA Primary IDE Channel Ultra DMA 5 (Device 0 & 1) and Primary IDE Channel DMA 2 (Device 0 & 1). Secondary Channel nothing.
This is my first SATA burner does it configure automatically re DMA? The Philips IDE is set for Master and I have the SATA in the secondary position (technically slave).
