My Nintendo DS Phat has stopped working and I was wondering if anyone could give me a hand. Several years ago, I changed the firmware on the DS to flashme (about 90% sure) but have not used it much since. In the past few days I have started playing a few games on the device with an Acekard 2i. Everything was going fine until this morning. I copied a European version of the Nintendo DS browser (I have a US DS) onto my Acekard 2i and started the program. It asked me to setup a wifi connection and since I had to leave, I simply turned the machine off. When I went to use the DS again, it would no longer work. If I plug in the charger, the red light turns on. If I hit the power button, the power light turns on but seems to almost immediately become dim. The power light stays dim and does not flicker. The screens do not flicker and do not display anything. When this all occured, I had a heavily modified EZFlash 3in1 card in the slot-2 (I had to modify it because it was originally a DS Lite version and would not fit in my DS). I have tested the 3in1 in a Gameboy Advanced SP and it seems to work correctly. I checked the fuses with a multimeter and they do not seem to be blown. I have tried charging the battery and also removing the battery and nothing seems to work. Unless the browser rom was really a virus that flashed the device's firmware, I am out of ideas on how to fix the DS.

replace the logic board.

There is no reason to run Flashme firmware with the advent of slot-1 cards.

2 fuses in the ds F1 and F2 possibly blown at least one roms with the i a the end are designed for the dsi not lite or phat

There's a remote possibility it is the wireless module. (on the logic board, not the wireless antenna) I have heard of a bad wireless module hanging the boot process.

It's faster and easier to replace the logic board.

I fixed my Nintendo DS by entering the flashme recovery mode and reflashing my device. My DS bricked because I was using an old version of flashme. As described at the bottom of http://ezflash.sosuke.com/wiki/index.php?title=Flashme, it seems that early versions of flashme used a portion of the NAND that later wifi enabled games (and the browser) also use. Starting the browser application corrupted the firmware and bricked the device. The Nintendo DS now seems to work correctly except possibly for wifi but I only performed a small amount of testing to connect to an access point.
