Not Recognizing DVD-RW Disc After Burn

My HP DVD Writer 740r and Nero 7 work just fine burning 4X DVD+RW discs. If I use 4X DVD-RW material, it will burn the disc that will play in a DVD movie player but when I put the disc back in my computer, it won't recognize it and I can't erase it. My Nero Info Tool says this writer will work with DVD-RW and there hasn't been a problem with DVD-R. I have been using memorex discs.

Does anyone have some suggestions?
