Pioneer DVR-A07XL help!!!!

just bought a Pioneer DVR-A07XL and installed it to a usb 2.0 external enclosure............the writer reads dvd fine.............but the computer doesn't seem to pick it up as a dvd writer and thus cannot write dvds.............can anyone help

Have you software that picks it up as such. Record Now will tell you what it is. Run DVD Info and have a look and see what it picks it up as.
