so i got a ds lite off of ebay and have no clue what's wrong with it. when i plug the charge cable in, the orange light will go on, then immediately off a second later. I've replace the battery to no avail. I've also opened the ds and checked the fuses and they both seem intact with no issues. Any ideas or advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

If nothing is happening on the screens and the fuses are in tack - faulty motherboard, with the surface mount components buy a replacement as you will not be able to repair it

it is not turning on. the same thing occurs whether or not a battery is inserted, the orange light comes on for less than a second, then shuts off. will not take a charge and will not turn on. the fuses may be blown, however i'm not sure what to look for. they are too small to tell. would it be absolutely noticeable if they were blown?

No they look the same as always - the F2 fuse is the one to check - next to the NDS Slot. You will need a mulitmeter and use the continuity check to see if they are still OK
