Is there a program I can use to check for missing roms? As in scanning a folder and see what's missing. Thanks for any info.

Can you explain this a little better? It doesn't make sense.

Well, I have a Mame machine. There are several programs that use updated lists of all released roms. They can scan a folder/directory, and create a list of any missing.
I was wondering if there was a similar program for NDS roms. That could scan all roms in a folder/directory, compare it to a list of released roms, and list any that might be missing.

Basically what you want is something that can tell you what you have missing out of every DS game currently on the market? You do realise they would take up hundreds of gigabytes of space, right?

Returning to your original request, no, I've never come across such a program, not to say it doesn't exist, but if not you could cross reference games with a complete list of titles as you aquire them and 'tick them off' as you go...

What you are equating this to in MAME is "apples and oranges". MAME is a stand alone subsystem and there is intelligence (a database) in the emulator that keeps track of ROM SETS.

Besides, ROMs in the MAME context is wholly different than ROMs in the NDS context. For MAME, a game consists of a set of ROMs, and MAME checks that for any given game, all of the REQUIRED ROMs are there and that their checksum is correct.

For NDS, there is only one ROM per game.

1. ROMs in the DS are independent of the system.
2. There is a high amount of duplication in NDS ROMs for localization keeping track of every single ROM wouldn't make sense.
3. There is no "official" numbering system for ROMs since they're not really "legal". There is an ad hoc numbering system that everyone kind of goes along with.

Actually, I found that there are data files for NDS roms for both ClrMamePro and RomCenter. I'll try those and let you know how it works.

(Attitude removed)

RomCenter is for PC emulators. Flashcarts are not emulators.

ClrMamePro is specifically for MAME Emulators.

The primary use of ClrMamePro and RomCenter for NDS ROMs is for something we don't talk about here.

However, if it works for you, great.
