Hi,
I've used the guide to convert DivX/XviD to DVD (using TMPGEnc, AC3 extraction - VirtualDubMod...), the guide is great and each step was working perfect for me, except the last step - IFOEdit.
When I'm doing the last step which is to create the DVD using IFOEdit (v0.96), the resulted VOBs has no sound at all.
The DivX that I have has an AC3 sound so I added it as needed for AC3. The AC3 file can be played by itself in the MediaPlayer, so it looks fine (the time length is also looks ok)
I tried it a couple of times but there is still no sound in the resulted film - on the PC and on a standalone DVD
Please, any information/suggestions would be great...

:)

I am having the same problem. I know that I'm supposed to be replying with a solution, but I've been dealing with this for a while, and it's getting a little irritating. I even tried demuxing the AC3 stream as a wav file, but then I just get static. Any ideas as to the above problem would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi danomyte,
It's "good" to know that others are having the same problem...
I wanted to keep the AC3 sound as is (I have a surround system...).
I did manage to solve the problem, though...
The solution is:
(I hope I'n not going to violate any rule in here...) According to www.doom9.org, you should extract the AC3 into a WAV using NanDub (it won't be a real WAV file), and then convert back into AC3 format (to fix the header) using BeSlice.
You should use this file instead the one that explain in the guide
Good Luck
