I know there are many other threads about this but my DS Lite is different it won't turn on. When I turn it on the green light stays on but the screen is black and nothing happens (I think it freezes before it turns on?). But when I bang it hard or take out the battery and put it in or just for no reason it will turn on but it freezes every time I touch it. Do you think it is a broken fuze? Because I don't think so and my serial number is unreadable and I really want to play on it.

This fault can be due to a missing WiFi board, open the back of the DS - the black lead clips to a plug in unit (the WiFi) if this is diconnected then the green light stays on and the screens are black.

If it is not this unit then the motherboard is faulty, beyond an easy repair

I can't get it to open up but after a lot of frustration I got it to turn on and the Wifi was working fine. So this means its a faulty motherboard. Should I contact Nintendo? maybe I got a faulty product. I don't have the s/n any more so there website isn't any help/

No S/N, no warranty, no claim to Nintendo.

"Well we did drop it alot "

Seriously, and you expect warranty support?

If its a faulty motherboard why can it still turn on? Is that normal.

So instead of trying to fix it should I buy it?

IMHO unless you can get a KNOWN WORKING logic board for $75.00 or less, plus the cost of tools, your time, and the possibility that you may damage something else while trying to repair it, you are probably better off paying the $75.00 plus shipping and have Nintendo fix it.

Since logic boards are not typically for sale by themselves, you would have to get one by purchasing a broken unit, which is a real crap shoot.
