Hey,

I want to remove the extras from a DVD I have... however - I'm a newbie and I suck

I know you can use DVDShrink by re-authoring it but the menu dissapears and becomes an image.... so I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the easiest program to use that would allow me to rip of the extras while keeping everything else the same? Thanks

DVD Shrink is the prog you want but new(ish) DVDs have copy protection on them which Shrink can't fix. Run your DVD through DVDfab first http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm (its free) and then Shrink with DVD Shrink. You should find that it works now fine.

If all you want is the movie, then Use dvdfab decrypter "movie only", as it will just rip the movie only and not rip any of the extras.

DVDShrink removes menues when you re-author it

I just tried DVDFab like you suggested... and yeah the movie came out nicely - but it immediatly started with the movie and there were no menues

Does DVDFab have an option to keep the menues + movie (without extras)- I looked but didn't see it... however, this is the first time I use it so I may have missed it

Thanks

VobBlanker can be used to remove extras without removing the Menu.
Note that selections that have been removed still appear as menu items - they are merely ignored when selected.

There's a simple guide here.

Sometimes the FBI warning is now part of the menu structure (VIDEO_TS.VOB)and has to be modified also.
