Shrink goes through with encoding then starts encoding again

Its the weirdest thing....shrink encodes the movie 100% then automatically starts encoding again. It only stops when i hit cancel then start the encoding again...only then will it finish with nero. Ive backed up over 200 movies with shrink and never had a problem. I went back to DVdXcopy to see if it was my burner or a disc issue, but they both worked with Xcopy. I even went as far as to remove shrink and reinstall it(yes its the latest version) and that didnt help. Any ideas?

Sounds like it is in deep analysis mode (which you didnt know about) & it is quite normal for it to assess the contents then it starts properly ripping/decrypting...

Maybe try leaving it doing it's thing , just to see how long it actually takes. Then if it is obviously taking too long (ie; over an hour) , then try in normal mode [non deep-analysis]

Thanks but thats not it. That was the first thing i checked. I let it do its thing for over 8hrs last night. It rips in the normal 35 to 40 min and then starts all over again.

Ripping should be less than an hour? That's disconcerting. If I do the deep analysis mode, it takes four and a half hours. Two hours less if I don't do deep analysis. And it takes me an hour to burn with plextor's 8x drive with ritek's 4x media.

Do you have DMA enabled for your drive? Sounds like it may be in PIO considering your excruciatingly long times :)

LOL....the ripping takes normal time..it goes all the way to 100%....then starts over again...it will go on for ever if i let. If I stop it and resart it...it finishes like normal. But any who...i reistalled shrink and Nero now it seems fine. Go figure! Thanks for the sugestions.
