Hi,I need advice on a printer to print directly onto cd and dvd discs,what types and costs of printers,thanks.

Haven't checked in years but this looks interesting: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?c...IwAw#ps-sellers (no idea on this site) Have used an Epson for about 3 years with generic inks with no problems. I think Canon makes some CD printers too.

It depends on where you live.

At one time (maybe still) Epson was the only direct print to CD/DVD printer in the US. The functionality exists in the Canon printers but is locked out in the US models.

I use an EPSON R280 and RX595 with CISS on each and I'm very happy.

If you don't need any color on the print, you could use a lightscrbe cd/dvd (if you have a lightscribe burner), to "print" a cover on the disc.

Yeah, lightscribe.

I haven't done a total TCO on lightscribe vs. printed DVDs.

I just don't like the idea of giving any extra money to HP. <G>
