Does anyone remember back to the early pioneers, 321 STUDIOS, who produced such programs as DVD X COPY, DVD X PLATINUM & DVD X RESCUE?

Bad luck has happened here and DVD X RESCUE has gone ?Belly-up? and even by today?s standards this program ?rescued? many faulty and damaged DVD?s and backed up media easily, even troublesome titles which are often discussed here.

If anyone has knowledge of why this old program worked so well or if anyone has advice on a similar program that will replace it, I would be very grateful.

I am aware and have used ?Path Player? associated with FAB Platinum but the very old RESCUE, sometimes won out over these latest offerings!

Yes, I owned their stuff when it came out and followed them until 321 studios was sued out of existence. (A LONG TIME AGO)

I guess you haven't been around much. Much has evolved since then.

There are several threads recounting their demise, including this one:

321Studios / DVD X Copy users (READ THIS FIRST)

and this one:

There are paid and shareware/freeware applications for most everytthing that you were able to do with their products.

Thanks for that.
Yes, you are right. I haven't been around much on these type of threads as the 321 stuff worked just as well as the current day offerings.

For example, I noted on these forums some type back, many guys having trouble backing up their copy of the "Dark Night"
I popped it into X COPY RESCUE and it spat out a perfect back-up some minutes later. Whilst others were wrestling with the latest versions of "FAB" and "ANY" etc

dailun, or...

If you don't mind, could you recommend some programs which work along similar lines to "X Rescue"
As said, I found this program (before it died) rather unique and I would imagine there must be some around now which operate on a similar principle.
I had a problem with the hard drive and the registry info has gone thus the program is inoperative.

I am not familiar with X Rescue, so I'm probably not the best person to ask.

I use AnyDVD/CloneDVD for my ripping and burning needs. I have't found anything that it won't fix.

For physical layer (damaged disk) errors I try DVD decryptor and have it ignore after 5 tries. I usually get something usable.

There are users in this forum that are much more experienced with the Freeware apps currently available.
