wii System freezes after update

Ok so i put in a copy of the new super mario bros. this morning and it made me update my system to play...i have a wii key so i did the updates the game played and about 20 min into it i got error occured eject disk turn power off and refer to manual so i did that and put in rabbids go home and after 20 min or so the game froze just froze didnt give me the message, any ideas on how to fix this or know what even happened?
