tmpgenc plus...blue screen of death

hi...
for some reason, each time i choose the tmpgenc plus wizard to encode my avi file i get to the screen where i choose the DVD...NTSC screen and i choose next and then when i get to the part to Browse and choose my avi file that i created in virtual dub, the pc screen goes black then the blue screen of death with a windows error of a fatal exception...
my tmpgenc used to work so i am not sure what the problem is... any ideas????????
