Hey, just wondering if anyone has any info on the "encryption" being used on newer dvd's? the two i've had problems with so far are transformers 2 and star trek. I use 1 click dvd copy pro with dvd43, have never had any problems until the 2 above mentioned titles.

these movies are obviously going in a completely new direction with encryption. Let me tell ya what i mean. with movies such as transformers 2 and star trek, it seems that a "decryption" program such as dvd 43 doesn't even come into play. with older movies, if i tried to rip them without a program like dvd43 it says something along the lines of "this dvd is protected..blah blah...can't copy..blah blah" and the tile sets would never even load.

recently i had to reformat my c: drive and reset my laptop back to factory. after i reinstalled 1 click dvd copy pro, i tried to rip transformers 2, but hadn't even realized that i never even installed dvd43 and had no other decryption software running. but it still loaded the tile sets with no problem , but instead it was showing up as a massive ammount of information...more than could even fit on even a dvd 9. so without, even have a decrypter, it loaded the tile sets, but it said "the dvd you are copying contains episodes...which it obviously doesn't since its a single feature film, and it told me i would need 85% compression. None of this makes any sense to me. does anyone know how to work with this new "encryption" they're using?

also...i had a hard time just playing the movie (original disk). I tried playing on my laptop, and it caused my software dvd player to freeze about 5 times before it finally decided to load the dvd. And when it finally did decide to load the dvd, the dvd drive was making an awful noise...thought it was gonna blow up or something.. it sounded like one of those old school printers, that had the paper with holes on the side to feed it into the printer.

So i finally got it loaded, and almost blew up my dvd drive, but are the problems done....NO. At the main menu, i would hit play and nothing would happen. none of the buttons worked, couldn't go to options, setup, nothing.. i think what i ended up doing was going to my computer->E:(dvd drive)->explore and searched through the vob's until i found a big one and that was the only way i could play the movie.

Any help and info on this new "encryption" would be much appreciated, thanks.

I haven't used 1 click dvd copy pro but dvd43 is less than useless.
