Hi everybody, just wanted to add my two cents. It doesn't really matter if you use dvdshrink and Nero, or dvdshrink and dvddecrypter. If you just use shrink then burn with Nero it will still create a file usually around 4.35gb to your c drive. and if you use dvdshrink with dvddecrypter it will create the iso file usually the same size 4.35gb to your c drive. Vishal if you want to cut down on time try unchecking deep analysis. the best process i like is dvdshrink-->create iso file--)burn automatically with dvddecrypter. both work, so try it. if neither work try and install or update your aspi layer it could help.

Oh I think it was a thread by Scuba Pete who mentioned cutting Nero out. I think the order your using is rip with dvddecrypter, then use shrink, then burn with Nero. right?

Instead: Use shrink first, create iso image, then check the box to automatically lauch dvddecrypter. If you do it manually just change the mode in dvddecrypter to iso write.

Hi Guys I have the same problem, for which I started this form, I was just making copy of Last samurai (back up). I first used shrink (ISO image) save in on hard disk, then open Nero 6 and burn the image. There was some error, I am going to post the error.

I then use the same ISO image, was able to make perfect burn with Decrypter. Please suggest what is wrong. Please please.

Is there any reason you need to use Nero? if you get a perfect burn just using dvdshrink and dvddecrypter stick to that. if you really want to use Nero, try updating your aspi layer to 4.71 or 4.60

Vishal if I read your theard right you are 1)creating an iso image with shrink 2)opening Nero to burn.

try this first open shrink-->then preferences-->then on the file I/O tab check the box to enable burning with Nero. Now open the disc with shrink, select "backup!". then under target device select your burner (don't select ISO Image File). then click ok. Also they say for a better quality burn to perform deep analysis, but this does make the process longer so if time is an issue uncheck that box (that is under the backup options tab). Hope this works for you.

Hi Vishal,

I'd recommend updating the firmware for your burner, you're about two versions behind with the latest being GSOH. New firmwares typically help media compatibility which would be a good thing in your case. Be extra sure that you get the the firmware for your exact model drive! Here's a link:

http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?category=4&manufactor=17

As suggested, you should definitely update Nero to it's latest version as well. The earlier versions had many problems.

I'd also recommend trying some different media such as Ritek G04, Verbatim Metal AZO or Taiyo Yuden. Good media goes a long, long way towards successful burns.

Again, as suggested, it could be beneficial to update your ASPI layer to ver. 4.60. ASPI allows your computer to communicate with your burner properly and may help your problem. ForceASPI 1.7 is a good one and can be downloaded from our site. When you extract it to a folder there should be a batch file in there called INSTASPI.EXE, run that then reboot. Now you can use ASPICHK to verify the install. Here's a link:

http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/driverdetail.jsp?cat=%2fProduct%2fEZ-SCSI_5.0&filekey=aspichk.exe&sess=no

Hello everyone,
I have upgrade my Nero burning software to Nero ultra edition.
I have one more problem, I tried to look in various old discussion forums(in our site)with out any success.
I have Nero 6 Ultra edition, but everytime I open Nero recode or showtime, it advises me to buy DVD VIDEO PLUG IN. As per Nero site it says that DVD Video Plugin is included in the software.
I have done these things with out any success.
1. Email send to Nero Help desk with out any reply (5 working days has past)
2. Delete and downloadthe whole Nero again.
3. Delete serial no and input again.
Any help will be greately appreicated.
If any one advise is there any site where I can download DVD Video PLUGIN please help me.

Hi vishal, did you download the other 3 downloads. There are a total of four. #1 download is v6.3.1.6, and don't bother with download #4(InCD4). You just want #2 & #3. Here's ya link:

i have not read where you tried letting shrink run the show. oriphus has a pretty good guide in the guide section on doing it. the updated shrink will burn, just enable it and after you open the dvd and set it you just wait till it spits out the original and asks for the blank(one drive). hope it helps

Dear actec,

That's not the issue, the issue is I am unable to understand why New Nero is unable to burn ISO image (while old version of Nero is able to) I have update all possible things.

Vishal, I think your problem is with Nero. I just burned an ISO image with Nero v6.3.1.6 (The Last Samurai). Also did you find how to get the dvd plug in? Open Nero Vision Express in the lower left corner click ? and select enter new serial number and enter your serial number again. Also in the 9th post or so, that's not your serial number is it?

(Head in crook of arm, corner of wall, crying my eyes out - ) Flip, Ooohh Flip, where have I gone wrong, Rip with DVD Shrink, SHRINK not with DVD Decrypter - Burn with DVD Decrypter or Nero - (I love the Kid, I really do, but sometimes he stabs me right in the heart -)

Flip, To get your link correct - Whenever you post a Nero link, always go back and hit "edit." You don't have to type anything, just go back to "edit" and click "Save changes" and your link will come out correctly. Needed with Nero only.

Cheers,

I'm getting error messages also when attempting to burn my ISO image of "The Last Samurai." It burned fine and fast using DVD Decrypter (Validating my ISO image is without flaws.).

My Nero is the latest as is my firmware.
Software is the current ersion.
No conflicting software.
ASPI layer is in place.
Media is correct.

Still I have errors when attempting to burn ISO's.

Burning VIDEO_TS folders, No problems.

I'll keep working on Nero's ISO burning problem and will get back if I figure anything out -
(You'd think after paying for something it should at least not lose a function as simple as frying an ISO.)

Meantime, try using DVD Decrypter.

Meantime, VISHAL, Uninstall Nero again, clean out all Nero?s little scraps you didn?t get when you deleted it from Control Panel, Add and Remove Programs with this -

http://www.nero.com/us/631940828445001.html

Clean your registry of Nero using this -

http://www.nero.com/en/631938356417810.html

When installing and uninstalling programs:

NOTE: Remember, when uninstalling a program always reboot your PC (even if it's not called for) to help "Flush it out". Whenever you install a program, always reboot your PC (even though it doesn't call for it) to help "Settle" it in.

At least you should have no other problems with Nero after that.

Cheers,

Pete

LOL Pete. I love ya too, but lets get the quote right.
Original quote:
Oh I think it was a thread by Scuba Pete who mentioned cutting Nero out. I think the order your using is rip with dvddecrypter, then use shrink, then burn with Nero. right?

I was referring to how vishal might be doing it. Me still doin it right. Here my second quote:
Instead: Use shrink first, create iso image, then check the box to automatically lauch dvddecrypter. If you do it manually just change the mode in dvddecrypter to iso write.

And thanks for the link tip.
