how do i burn a avi file as a dvd file?

Read the guides on this site, dvdrhelp.com, or doom9.org.

Basically, you'll have to encode it to DVD specs, author, and then burn.

I just bought this simple program, Cucusoft AVI to VCD-DVD.It works pretty good so far on my camcorder .avi stuff. Its $24.95. Worth looking at. The Demo only does 1 minute of conversion but I ran a 1 minute .avi through it with no probs. Turned em into .m2v and .mpa I could use very easily in DVD Lab, so I bought it. They have different codecs avalible too.
